About us

 
Stannah is a British family run business based in England, and making lifts of all types since 1867 and stairlifts from 1975. Stannah founded in 1867 introduced their first stairlift in 1975. Stannah started to design and build their first range of stairlifts, and begin exporting them in 1979. Stannah developed a range of twin-rail design stairlifts in 1979. Stannah utilizes locally based engineers and local service centers in the UK. Stannah exports to distributors outside of the UK.
 
Stannah designs, manufacture and install a comprehensive range of passenger and platform access lifts. Stannah fully automatic passenger lifts are perfect for all users in low to medium rise buildings. Stannah vertical and inclined lifts are installed internally and externally to provide special access for disabled people.
 
Stannah makes a homelift elevator to accommodate up to two people or a homelift elevator to take a wheelchair upstairs.
In 2008, Stannah Stairlifts was the first company in the Mobility Business category to make it into the top 500 UK Superbrand list – ranking 488.  Since then their ranking has incresed to 459 in 2009/10 and again to 436 in 2011
